J​

  • I am a SPI Athlete Training Coach who has been with the company since 2021. I graduated from MVCC in 2019 with an Associates Degree in General Studies and from Utica College in 2021 with a Bachelors in Health Studies. I am currently a third year student in the Utica University DPT program and anticipate to receive my doctorate in May 2024.

  • I am from Floyd, NY and grew up playing organized soccer, baseball, softball, basketball, men’s and women’s lacrosse, football, snow and water skiing and pickup ice hockey. Anyone who knows me knows my true love is soccer, playing a total of 5 years in college, 1 at MVCC and 4 at Utica, where I helped lead the team to its first ever conference championship. When I’m not playing soccer, working or studying, you’ll find me hiking or camping or spending time at the St. Lawrence River.

  • Fun fact: I have the same birthday as Dr. Dre.

Mods​

  • I’m an Athletic Training Coach that has been with SPI since the fall of 2022. I am currently a student at Utica University in the Doctor of Physical Therapy 3+3 program with a Bachelor’s in Health Studies. I am in my first year of the DPT program and plan to graduate in May 2026 with my Doctorate.

  • I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona and grew up playing competitive ice hockey and lacrosse. In high school, I moved to Massachusetts to play juniors hockey for the Boston Shamrocks, where I committed to play hockey at UU. I am currently playing my senior season of hockey at UU representing the team as an assistant captain. When I have time outside of school, hockey, and working, I enjoy cooking, hiking, and spending time outside.

  • Fun fact: I can solve a Rubix cube.

Will​

  • I am currently an Athletic Training Coach with SPI.  I am from Utica, NY and graduated from New Hartford Senior High in 2021.  I have had the privilege of training with SPI for the past seven years, and now I am able to work here with the prestigious staff.  While I am currently enrolled at Mohawk Valley Community College, I will be transferring to the University of Pittsburgh in the fall of 2024 with plans to graduate with a Masters in Kinesiology on a Physical Therapy/Athletic Training path.

  • recently obtained my Level 1 USA Hockey coaching certification.  With this I have been able to work with local youth hockey teams, expanding my knowledge of ice hockey and important life skills. I played competitive ice hockey for eight years, including three years of junior hockey with the Utica Junior Comets organization.  In addition to ice hockey, I played lacrosse from fifth grade until my senior year of high school, at both the school and club level.

  • Fun Fact: I have had the privilege of playing golf with and defeating RMPT Owner and Physical Therapist, Ryan Monaco.

Kaelei​

  • I am a fitness trainer & coach at SPI, primarily working with adults in the morning & with the athletes during the summer months. I graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2012 with a BA in Psychology. I competed for the D1 Gymnastics program at UAA 2008-2012 on full athletic scholarship. Now, I am a certified professional coach with USA Gymnastics and have maintained my advanced personal training certification for 6 years. I have been coaching competitive gymnastics for 9 years and have been working with athletes and adults for almost 4. I started coaching at Valley Gymnastics in 2020, in 2021 I launched a coaching brand as my passion project and in the fall of 2022 I joined the SPI team.

  • When I am not at SPI I am most likely at Valley Gymnastics or running around with Paetyn, my 10 year old. I love dancing, music and anything with a theme! Some collegiate achievements include- 2009 UAA won the MPSF conference title for the 1st time in program history, in 2010 awarded team MVP,  2011 MPSF all academic team, and in 2012 finished my collegiate career with five individual event titles.

  • Paetyn said a fun fact about me is I like to randomly jump like a leprechaun & click my heels together.

Syd​

  • I’m a receptionist and I began working at SPI in July of 2022. I am currently attending Utica University and working toward my degree in adolescence education with a concentration in chemistry and physics. I graduated from West Canada Valley where I ran cross country and track and I was also on the bowling team where we were able to achieve section 3 championship in each sport. I enjoy running, weight training, and hiking.

  • Fun fact: I can walk on my hands.

Marrero

  • I’m a receptionist and began working with SPI in 2022. I graduated from Keuka College with a degree in Child and Family Studies. I grew up in Yorkville, NY and played field hockey, basketball, and ran track. I am a NASE Certified Speed Specialist (NASE-CSS) and am working toward becoming a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. I played 4 seasons of college field hockey and helped my team win 3 straight conference championships. I also played one season of college basketball. I coached varsity field hockey and modified track at New York Mills. I enjoy working out, being outdoors, and spending time with my family and friends.

  • Fun fact: I won Garorade’s “Sweat With The Best” promo and got to train with the USA Women's National Field Hockey Team.

Nate Fredsell, CSCS,USAW

  • Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Utica University and SPI Fitness. 

  • Professor at Utica University in the Exercise Science Department. 

  • Graduated from Ithaca College in 2016 with a degree in Excercise Science. 

  • Began working at SPI Fitness in 2016 in our Athlete Performance Training program

  • Strength and Conditioning intern at Division 1 University of South Carolina working with the football program.
