CRYOTHERAPY

WHAT IS IT?

Cryotherapy AKA “cold therapy,” is a technique where the body is exposed to extremely cold temperatures for several minutes at a time. Cryotherapy can be delivered to just one area, however to optimize results, SPI and RMPT offers whole-body cryotherapy. In practice, whole-body cryotherapy immerses the body in extremely cold air for approximately one to three minutes, with the individual standing in an enclosed chamber that surrounds their body below the chin. Cryotherapy is a great recovery tool that aides in the relief of muscle pain, sprains, swelling, and inflammation.

WHAT DO I WEAR?

Personal and appropriate undergarments should be worn to your session and SPI will provide the necessary robe, gloves and ear coverings if needed. Please make sure your skin and undergarments are dry and free of any liquids, lotions, or moisturizers upon arrival.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT MY SESSION?

Most sessions are anywhere from one to three minutes, with the availability for five minutes as your tolerance grows. Medical history and a signed liability waiver will be signed before your session as a mandatory practice. You must be 18 years old or older to participate in the Cryotherapy Chamber.
